BitMart says Mercado Bitcoin attackers also hit its wallets
BitMart founder Sheldon Xia said the group behind Monday's Mercado Bitcoin breach also drained BitMart-linked wallets, with Bitquery estimating about $391,000 taken roughly an hour before the Brazilian attack and sent to the same addresses. Mercado Bitcoin, Brazil's largest exchange, puts its own loss at about $38 million across at least 10 chains, with $11 million frozen, and has pledged that customers will not bear any losses. BitMart, already in a wind-down, has not given its own figure.
