Bank of Korea surveys major lenders on exposure to a large exchange hack

South Korea's central bank has sent its first crypto risk survey to 18 banks and 13 securities firms, including KB Kookmin, Shinhan, Hana, Woori and NH NongHyup, with answers due on 4 November. The questionnaire asks how each firm would be affected if the country's largest exchange stopped operating after a hack, or if crypto prices fell sharply and stayed low. The bank says it has not seen financial-stability risks materialise and has not decided on any new rules.
