South Korea's ruling party moves to delay crypto income tax again
South Korea's Democratic Party leader Kim Min-seok called for postponing the 22% tax on crypto gains, currently due to start on 1 January 2027, which would be the levy's fourth delay since it was legislated in 2020. The party wants the Digital Asset Basic Act passed first and says it will set a clear new timeline. The presidential office was reported last week to be weighing 2029, in line with OECD crypto reporting rules.
