Base activates Denim upgrade, moving to full blocks every 200 milliseconds
Coinbase-incubated layer-2 network Base switched on its Denim upgrade on mainnet on 5 November, producing a canonical block every 200 milliseconds. The change retires the earlier Flashblocks pre-confirmation system, so apps relying on it must move to standard block subscriptions. Denim also adds millisecond timestamps for smart contracts and tweaks to Base's token compliance rules.
