South Korea's GOPAX freezes withdrawals and trading after hacking threat
Korean exchange GOPAX stopped deposits and standard withdrawals at 2:55 p.m. local time on 6 November and suspended trading until further notice, citing a hacking threat it did not describe. The exchange says it is moving its virtual assets into cold wallets and will process withdrawal requests manually through customer support after internal checks. GOPAX says no asset losses have been reported so far. The move follows a run of cybersecurity incidents across South Korea's financial sector.
