Binance attackers convert $124 million of stolen altcoins into bitcoin, Elliptic says
Elliptic says the North Korea-linked attackers behind the Binance theft have swapped about $124 million of altcoins into bitcoin, largely stolen XRP routed through THORChain, using over 20,000 wallets on 16 chains. Around $2.85 billion has been frozen and about $3.11 billion still sits in linked addresses. Security Alliance estimates the intruders had roughly eight weeks of access beforehand. Binance aims to reopen withdrawals for HYPE, INJ, APT, PLASMA, NEAR and LTC by the end of next week.
