Core Scientific to wind down bitcoin mining by year-end and go all-in on AI hosting

Core Scientific told investors on its third-quarter call that it will finish winding down self-mining in the fourth quarter and enter 2027 purely as a high-density colocation provider. Mining brought in about $17.5 million, or 7.5% of $232.9 million in quarterly revenue, while colocation contributed $215.4 million. The company had already planned to stop hosting other miners by 31 December and ran roughly half as many machines at end-September as at the end of 2025.
