Polymarket probes large bets placed shortly before NYT/Siena poll releases

Vanderbilt researchers, cited by the New York Times, flagged a Polymarket account that staked close to $200,000 on 31 October on Nebraska senator Pete Ricketts winning re-election, about an hour before a NYT/Siena poll showed him ahead. The account reportedly made more than $77,000 and placed similar bets on Kalshi and other venues. Polymarket says it detected the trades and is investigating; Kalshi declined to comment. It is not known whether the trader had advance knowledge of the poll.
