EU launches crypto task force to stop Russia dodging sanctions
The European Commission has set up an EU Crypto Sanctions Task Force to find and block attempts to get around EU financial sanctions using crypto assets. Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque announced it after chairing a November 5 meeting of member-state sanctions officials, which also covered enforcement and the anti-fraud office OLAF's role. Reporting citing the Kyiv Independent says the group will run for 12 months with Ukrainian and UK support and will look at networks such as the A7 platform and its rouble-pegged A7A5 stablecoin.
